Everything above it depends on this
A foundation is the one pour you cannot go back and fix cheaply. Once the framing is up, a stem wall that is out of square or a footing that ran shallow in one corner turns into a problem that keeps showing up in door jambs and drywall cracks for the life of the building.
We lay out to the plans, dig and form to the specified depth, tie the reinforcement per the schedule, and set anchor bolts and hold-downs where the drawings put them rather than near where the drawings put them. Then we call for inspection before anything gets covered.
New construction, an addition tying into an existing house, a shop or a detached garage. Send us the plans, and we will tell you what we see before we quote it.

Do you work from engineered plans?
Yes, and we would rather. Send the foundation plan and rebar schedule with your request and we can give you a real number instead of an allowance. If you do not have plans yet, we will tell you what you need and who to talk to.
Can you pour a foundation for an addition on an existing house?
Yes. Tying new footings into an existing foundation is its own problem. Matching depth, doweling into the old concrete, and keeping the two from settling at different rates. We look at what is already there before quoting.
Who calls for inspection?
Usually whoever holds the permit. We will confirm how that is handled on your job at the walkthrough, and we schedule the pour around the inspection rather than the other way around.
How long does a foundation take?
For a typical residential footing and stem wall, figure a week or two from dig to form strip, with inspection holds built in. Weather and inspector availability move that schedule more than we do. You get the dates with the proposal.
